Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Opening PLE versions in Complete

I know that you can open legit Maya files with PLE but once you have bought a Maya licence can AW convert all your PLE files into legit Maya files?

So all that learning stuff that you done can be ported into Maya proper without the watermarks so you can render it without having to do it all again.

I am aware that IN NO WAY WOULD THERE BE A PLUG-IN or we would have no need to buy Maya licences but do AW it as a service?

Just wondering...

Tickety boo and ta ta for a bit...

Contact Alias|Wavefront and ask them about this. I vaguely remember someone mentioning that it was possible.

It can't be done, because then every school and office would buy only one copy for rendering, then have every student and employee run PLE on their desks. A|W would lose money like no tomorrow.

aylar, that is not correct. i assume, if they would offer it, it would be one time only option. houdini offers to convert "ple" files to normal files once and only once you buy a full copy of houdini. but they actually advertise that possibility. and i think (if memory does not fail me) that there is a limit on how much files can be converted.
