Toon shader

How do you get a toon shader to hit every edge with a small black line?

I can make the shader i just dont know how to make a small black line on every edge....

Maya 4.5+ has a Ramp Shader that's useful for that. Otherwise, you'd use the Sampler Info + Blend Colors Node with a layered shader as I did with my Toon Mike character. You'd adjust it to give you that kind of line.

Ya i used the ramp sher got all the colors ok just can get the black line to pick up the edges like in the picture

You might need to layer two Ramp Shaders. One doing the black edge, the other doing color. Just change the Color Input from Light Angle to Facing Angle.
