assigning materials

ok i have a pretty dumb question....
lets say i have a book and i want to assign to all of its pages(planes) the same material, how can i do that without dragging it from the hypershade 100 times....i tried dragging the mwhen they were all selected and it didnt work.......user added image
can any1 please help????

also i would like to know if there is an easier way to make a book, besides duplicating a plane a lot of times

Highlight/select all the pages/objects, and in the hypershade, right-click on the texture you want/need, then select what says "Assign material to selection" or something of that nature.

Open hypershade, select 100 pages, right-click shader in hypershade, choose assign to selection. Not sure about an easy way to make pages.

Idea about the pages....maybe you could just make it a cube, then do the rest with textures and bump maps and all. Just an idea....

depending on how far the book will be from the camera you may need to do a displacement rather than a bump map so that you get some definition between the pages of the book
