This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Here's one of my first completed model in MAYA, damn it took me forever, like 3 days working on this ... I'm new so please be honest, not brutal but honest, lol!
Thanks guys ...
Can someone help me on texturing this bad boy, i have no idea how to even begin ... thanks ...
no not the render per say ... and the wire frame shader, isn't a shader at all, is all photosop, sorry to dissapoint you all, i was just wondering about my model... and the render quality!
i like it..it doesn't look very realistic but very futuristic.
the city doesn't have much detail but it looks very nice the whole modeling... that may sound a bit odd..
I think you're doing okay on this so far. One of the other guys, Billy_Cat had the same problem, he didn't know how to texture.
What you wanna do is get a sphere, cylinder and perhaps a cube and test those out first, just to see what you are up against. Read the MayaHelp menu too, everything is there also. Follow it step by step. As I've said before to others, you got this far so you can do the rest. There are tutorials here and all over the web too on how to do stuff. Dont give up just cos it gets difficult, we all have trouble at some point. Just check edit poly>texture> automatic mapping, planar, spherical and cylindrical. That should get you going in the right direction.
Hey Jango ... thanks so much for the words of encouragement, i will do what you suggested, and hopefully that'll help me understand a bit better, thanks again
