how to close up a nurbs modified cylinder

hey guys im trying to model a NURBS luger ( a german 9mm pistol from ww2 for those who dont know) and created the grip with a cylinder. the problem is i dont know how to close the gap at the bottom. should i wait till i convert to poly's? and if so what do i do then?

Well... theres always fill hole... but from my experience that doesnt work too great... (thats in Polygons) I suppose id like to know too user added image sorry i wasnt of any help user added image

Your welcome. You would have to apply a patch if you were to go with the method you started with.
