This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
the screw head doesnt have a slot for the flat screw driver, its outlined but you need to hollow it out so a screw driver could actually go into the screw head
Yeah the dancing robot, I was thinking about that the other day arran but I couldn't even motivate myself to open the file!! I'll get round to it at some point!
The texture was just thrown on, a 5 minute job, so I can fully understand why you don't like it Gamestarf. I don't think I'm going to do any more to it though as the model has served it's purpose, to inspire me. Having said that I have raised the bump map a touch for you arneoog and there are now slots in the screws as suggested by Turbo Dan, the original ones were just a bump map (me being lazy I suppose).
I think the reason the textures seem to jump at people is because the wood appears near photo-real (or heading that way) and the screws look like they were vector rendered (or at least cartoon rendered.
I just did a quick FG render on under a white sphere so the screws had nothing to reflect apart from the sphere making them look a little odd. Cheers for the feedback,
