Set lighting and texturing

Just started lighting up my set, still have some things to model and texture for it but wanted to get the lighting done first.

I'm a fan of appeal in a character and this kid looks really nice - a likeable kinda mischievious kid. I'd like to see the animation you have planned. Is he gonna fight anyone with that sword once he pulls it out of the stone?

Sorry, I can't help you with the texturing... I'm weak there

btw. what's it like looking for animation work in TO?? Got a site with your reel on it or are you working on your reel now?

I just put a reel on my site using the Flash mx video format.

ereitz, there are lots of companies in TO... just no one hiring at the moment=). About my own web site... its in the works. I want to get my new reel done before I get it up and running. My old reel is pretty good but I've learned so much since I completed it.

The story thats going on with the kid is that he thinks he's King Arthur and is going to try to pull the sword from the stone but its not going to come out. The kid will get fustrated and starts pulling frantically but to no avail. If I can get what I invision in my head into the kids performance it should be pretty funny. I also have a funny ending but won't give that away yet... I'll wait till I get it done.

Yeah, this is my first reel and I'm pretty happy with it but I'm sure in a couple of months I'll think it's wretched. I'm going to start sending it out here on the west coast as well as to Germany - my girlfriend lives there - I think the market's about the same.

Simply Maya seems to have a really positive community and a real mix of people and ideas.

Your animation idea sounds good. Looking forward to it. user added image

i dont think that is satisfactory for an answer. it is like asking what is GNU, well it is real easy, it is recursive definition:

GNU = GNU NOT UNIX

ok and what is it?

GNU NOT UNIX = GNU NOT UNIX NOT UNIX ...

My first impression was that he was flexing his sholder muscles, with his arms bent that way and "lifted up" sorta.

But as I look at it more, it's really good, I don't know what anyone else thinks though...
