This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
A remake of a previous vehicle which I intially didnt want to do, but my 'inner idiot' got the better of me!!
Crits welcome, just need to know if its easy on the eyes, and not too much in the way of design for designs sake if you know what I mean. I was leaning toward the mighty Blackbird stealth plane in way of design
Mat: Yeah thats the bugger, SR-71, all I could remember was Blackbird!! Doh!! I suppose theres a hint of BattleStar about it too. Not intended I assure you. Yep its a small craft, 2 man capacity, or female - single- in this case LOL!
Some guy: Texture wise I was actually thinking of dirty metal plating not over detailed though. If you've ever seen the remake of Flight of the Phoenix, the plane in that is the inspiration for the 'look' in that department. Im also tinkering with the idea of tiles on the underside similar to the Space Shuttle for atmospheric re-entry, you know heat shield and all that, just to ground it in reality a bit more. I do want to do a shot of it coming in red hot on the underside....
Thanks. No I dont bevel at all, as they can add weird geo here and there, a bit unpredictable and a bit of a waste of time. I just add edges on a subd and scale out, then just hit the convert button to poly. I'll be getting rid of some geo on the posts before the model is finished as there's a few too many edges on them right now for sure
