Ocean Scene

Just thought I would do some thing different, only took about a 2 hour to get this need to stick some thing in it like a turtle............dave

I think I will stick with the turtleuser added image, if the water was deeper that would have worked, had only a little time to do the turtle (green sea turtle)...............dave

I think you will find (here in Oz) that most shipwrecks are in less than 5m of water dave user added image nice toitle

Hey i really like the look of the scene. Reminds me of Pixar's Finding Nemo (awesome movie). The turtle looks great too. Nice and simple but like it could have it's own personality.user added image

Thinking about it you would be wright Anthony most ship hit the rocks in the shallows, Im just testing a texture that I quickly did in mudbox to see if I going in the right direction for about 20 minutes not bad..............dave

MrYeti im looking for a realistic look so have some work to do modelling and doing a better texture in mudbox, dustykhan I might put some jelly fish in as I think that is part of there diet ...............dave

Edit:I thought I might as well explain what I am doing with the texture you see on the turtle,all the projections were projected on to 1 file texture what I need to do is for each projection create a file texture so I can do some colour correction in photoshop

Coming along there Dave. Question the water surface shader, is it using fresnel reflections?

One of your finishing touches just has to be bubbles!user added image

Im using the ocean shader so the answer to your question is probably not, I did try using photons to create the god rays but I did not get it to work at the moment I have 4 lights in the scene 1 area light with texture for the god rays on the sea bed, 1 area light as a fill light, I spot light with texture for the fog god rays and 1 fill spot light for the turtle. Bubbles yes. Any suggestions Genny you have for the ocean shader will be welcome.....................dave

Still a lot of work to do in photoshop to fix these textures but getting there............dave
