In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Autcad to Maya?

A friend asked me if I could import his AutoCAD drawing into Maya and turn it into a 3D model. I told him I wasn't sure, can anyone answer this question for us?

Rather vague :\

When you say turn it into a 3d model you don't mean an automatic process do you?

Sorry for being so vague user added image. No I'll turn it into a 3D model on my own. Just is it possible to even load an AutoCAD file into Maya? If so, how?

What's the file extension, DWG? If it is it should be no worries, just go to file>import and select the file you want to load.
