Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Smoothing some of a mesh

I've got a polygon sword, and I want to smooth the handle, but not the rest. Selecting the faces and hitting smooth doesn't work. Do I need to detach the handle, smooth it, then retach it (and how would I do this)? Or is there an easier way?

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Selecting the faces and hitting smooth should have worked or did you get an error?

Selecting the faces, then Polygons -> Smooth works for me.

Polygons > Smooth smooths the whole thing.

Edit: Fixed it, nm. Thanks anyways!
