Bullet: Yeah its just a start on metal panels reflection/spec etc. Once I got the required look I'll just export the material and use it later.

Stwert: I'm returning to the world of Outlaws at long last - in February - so expect some stuff in March...its gonna look very cool and sexy!!!.

Jay are you making the model as a single unified object?

I mean it seems to me that you can easily get away with the horizontal stabilizers root fairing as a separate part which would be far easier to model then trying to unify it and would probably be more like the way it actually is on the real airplane.

JSprogg...no mate I'm not. I was too tired to do any modelling the other night as I'd worked late so started some shader tests

CTBram...you are kidding right? Check some mustang ref mate, you'll be surprised at the shape and connection for this part. A strange area again, remember the strange extrusion on the wing for the elevator...Of course it will be separate.

Probably my choice of words confusing those brain cells

Not hard to confuse my brain cells lately my friend.

I must have misread your intentions about attaching the horizontal stab and its fairing to the fuselage. I figured if you were going through the bother of attaching it there must be a good reason and just wanted to know what it could be.

I agree the fairings for the connections of the wing and the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage on the P-51 are quite complicated especially the flange extruded from the fuselage at the root of the wing above the flaps.

Looking good Jay! that looks like a very difficult section actually..I have done similar...to get the creases in the right place is no easy task!
