Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Hello mmoore,

straight away I can see that the eye sockets need to be rounded off so that the eyeballs sit in them properly, also the top lip looks a little pointy at the moment. In both cases the basic shape looks to be there but some time needs to be spent tweaking it.

okay ...

hiyya all ... just have redone eyes over and over ..i think this is better just need to know if too far out ? or just dont look right at all ..for some reason I am focused on the eyes and just being very anal with them ..so need new eyes to look at them ..any C and C on anything is welcome ...

looking good so far. one critique though, the arms and especially the hands, look a bit boxy...try smoothing those out so they flow back into the geometry a bit better and round out a little more (i had problems with that too, when I did that tutorial)

oh you have done the tutorial ? do you have a pic of your finish product ? just wondering ..I am still working on it ...basically been obsessing big time with the eyes lol ...going to work on more soon .

will post pics as soon as I can ..I can post wire frame if you all are interested

mr Moore, what can one say, this is a much hader project than it looks and it even LOOKS hard.

your eyes do not seem big enough over all view, dont know??

i missed your work moore. since iam on vacation i wasnt able to really give comments n stuff. well here iam.
modeling is turning out great. catn wait for the finished product.
and textuing. you have any plans for that ??

well I might not sure yet ...the frog is still in his rough stages ..I have been working alot and other things have come up but going to start back on him soon ...

My suggestion would be to move the eyes back towards the body abit...it looks like there are extrusion sticking out of the head, but in reality the eyes sit in a socket in the skull cavity, so the eye is just out too far. I would also make the eyelids more perpedicular to the ground axis...

mmoore, my suggestion is to just eat it, the legs are the best part, but i treid them in a french resturant in china..? true! user added image

there's a lot of work there, it puts me off organics... (because it looks so hard)

why the two halves,? still hung over from the dragon lol?
