Oh man, just fell in love with Maya's 3D paint tool.... This was my first time using it... God ill use this tool for every project now, man im so excited dont know why it took me this long to try it...

This was just a test keep in mind his UV's are not laid out properly because I was just messing around.

I'll lay out the UV tomarrow and paint a final..

I feel like a kid =)

That was just the base color. In painting you start off with a base color than add layers of color to build up on. He was all pink at one point.

I teach Kenpo as the base, Philipino Arnis (stick fighting), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. My school's been open for 5 years and I have been studying the arts for 29 years. It's an ongoing learning experience for me.....just like Maya. user added image

Thanks for asking.

That's awesome Kurt! Can't wait to see the final textures.

Tell me something. How smoothly does the 3d paint tool work for you? What resolution are you using for the textures? I've tried painting in Maya few times too but for me it's a bit too sluggish tool to use. Don't know if it's because of my "ancient" GF2 GTS or what. What video card do you have?

(I usually just paint few markers with the 3d paint tool and then use that as a reference to paint the final textures in photoshop).

wow that is excellent, i would love to see him brought to life in a movie, he deserves the starring role user added image
he's kinda cute but ugly and scary at the same time, kids would be nuts for him, we might see him getting given away free with every 'happy meal' at Mcdonalds next year user added image
