Medical Imaging

I'm trying to create a shader that looks like a sprectrum MRI scan. Essentially it has that Predator vision/ heat scan look. Anyone ever done anything like this? Have any thoughts on how to get started?

Hey, have you thought about actually batch processing a series of frames with some gradient maps in Photoshop (Or Aftereffects)?
