Help Needed on Rotating Object

hey i was wondering if someone could help me out with this,
user added image

ive tryed everything to fill it in well that i can think of planar doesnt seem to work for some reason when the edges are selected it only fills in the eye.

any ideas at all to make it solid would be super.

im also having trouble with animating it aswell
when it rotates it distorts the shape of it and it ends up flat
any ideas on that aswell would be great.
thanks Karl.

convert it to polygons if it's not already.

Select them all and Polygons > Combine to make them all one object.

Use Polygons > Append to Polygon to fill in the gaps.
