how to make a floating window

Ok here is my dumb question.
How do I make the attribute editor in ver 5 a flaoting window?
Not docked in with the channel editor

I had the same issue just last night. **Fires up Maya** Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences. On the left, its under Interfaces (1st one on the list). Look for "Open Attribute Editor" in the right window. Theres options for "In Seperate Window" or "In Maya Main Menu." Just check it to the "In Seperate Window" and your all set. user added image
