My Dream Office Challenge - Tweetytunes

Well you don`t get more out of the box than this idea - and I want to set this up now before someone else gets it.

Was thinking along the lines of "Glenn Martin DDS" and his portable office and came up with the "Ultimate 3D freelancer Van". A working CG machine that could work anywhere. And then while googleing I came across this site

https://www.worldcarfans.com/20710251...t-van/photos#0

So thats what Im up too - said some point this week in a thread here that I have yet to make a car in 3D (maybe why I came up with it) so here is my chance.

A custom, Concept Nissan NV200 Van. - thats a mouth full - I so want one of those - Who needs Pimp My Ride

Many thx guys - the only other idea I had was to do a burnt out office - something like fallout 3 style as I hate offices, but as many have pointed out this is sooo different - Im very proud of this idea, even though Nissan beat me to it.

Going through some tuts on modeling cars and if I`m honest struggling with it a little as working with guild lines is a very different way of working for me. Been cracking on with it but everything is still very ruff right now - so what I might do is finish this off then build over the top of it in the style I normally work to.

Had to use a blue print for a different van as the blue prints for the Nissan had views missing, but more than capable of tweak the basics to match what I want.

Nice work! Although I've only done it ~ twice, I find the method of creating vehicles using curves in Maya through orthographic views somewhat time consuming and difficult/frustrating (I'm guessing my way is currently an 'old approach' , ~ did it back in 2004). Although it can be very accurate, and can create very nice (smooth) results.

More support on your idea, again it is a very cool idea (man would I DIG having that office!)

Yer got rid of the lines and started almost from scratch - kept the bumper - that looked nice. Box modeled the base of the van now in record time.

Going to move on to the wheels as the wheel arches are not right on the blue print. With the wheels done, I think I can create the arches myself (hoping they will look 100% better)

Base of the van looks good so far, nice job! Wheels are good too, not sure if I like the tyres though... Not that they're bad, they just look off to me
