Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Text extrusion on SPHERE

I saw this post here...
ANY pointers would be super ..

I can do that with polygons, but I am having some severe trouble trying to do a similar effect on a sphere!

I've been trying different techniques for days... from displacement (huge failure) to booleans.. and I can't seem to get an evgraved text on a sphere without blowing it.

Attached is what I managed to do with nurbs. but it sucks. How-to with polygons? I don't know how to ptoject a curve onto a polygonal sphere.

It's the tesselation that makes this horrible...no matter how high I put it...
