Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

The Iron Lady Characture

Hey Guys,

Another little Characture made from the male base head in Zbrush, Its a characture of Margaret Thatcher, Ex British Prime Minster based off the Sptiiting Image puppet but Ive made some mods myself to it as its hard work finding reference.

Hope you like it, I had fun making it!

Cheers

Steve

Hehe... nice one.. I can see some resemblance to Thatcher. I'm getting my Quad CPU with 4 GB RAM and Geforce 8800GTS next week hopefully, and then I'm gonna take Z for a spin too user added image

Can't say it reminds me of Maggie, but that's an exquisite modelling job nonetheless!!! Well done!

Cheers man, Not too sure but I think that ive seen some problems running maya with the 8800's think theres a thread on CGtalk about it. Might be a different card though.

Once you get used to Z you'll love it, Ive been playing about with the base models in there, heres the model that It started from.

hehe another good model steve.

I recognised it straight away as being a spitting image style model. You could probably shift the neck forward slightly and give her some wavy locks to nail it 100% user added image

ha ha - nice job steve - i can see the resemblance. I definitely agree with t1ck that some wavy locks will help. it also looks like there is an odd crease running down the neck that could do with smoothing out.

Thanks for the comments guys, glad you liked it.

I'll have a smooth of the neck area, only noticed it when you pointed it out arran.

Think I might add some waves to the hair too and adjust the neck.

Been having fun doing these characters as its very free form and really gets you used to using the various brushes, and I've nore really seen many 3d charactures.

Cheers

Steve
