Hey Murph
Sorry I dont usually follow these comps, but all round theres some good stuff. Only crit is stick to four sided polys and only what Mike said about structure. I think the head and body need a bit of tweaking shape wise and maybe make the front fins bigger so it swims real fast to catch its prey!!
thanks for the crits, I have been pondering about the fins for some time, i was aiming for "claw fins", kinda like an evolutionary start to the land croc, but your right, i should aim to make them more "fin" like,
as for the muscle structure, i have had a look at loads of underwater critters, sharks and the like, and they have such slight muscle structure its hard as to which way to stray - more croc or more shark?,
i think - i may start again, i have two months...!!! (with ref's this time)
Most definatly, this is the first poly model i have ever done, and already i have had loads of support from the more experienced members on these forums, so i can only express gratitude to you all, and subsequently started my 7th attempt.
a quick start, i know it's still very square, so i will be making him a bit more lardy, but i hope this is what you mean by skeletal infrastructure? im running out of space on my hard drive - 80 gig of croc1.mb, croc2.mb, etc etc
hi everyone, sunday has been spent w/ my croc, an have started the teeth, and a bit more armour, wife is ready to divorce me too...but heres a picture anyway...
Thats a serious improvement!! I've been away all weekend so I didn't see ya reply and the others til now. Its nice to see someone improve overnight like that. Well done dude!! It reminds me of on of the big fish creatures from Star Wars EP1.
