Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

mirror geometry not working properly

Ive been using half a model and using mirror and smooth to check periodically how its turning out. But when I completed an arm on my model the mirror geom started misplacing the mirror. The pivot point is in the origin still but its not behaving that way. Well it does when im rotating the model. ill post a screen to show. What the heck is wrong?

In the top image, I presume it was the left hand image you mirrored? I can see that result happening if you mirrored the right hand image but not the left, I wouldn't have thought it is the pivot point. Maybe try +x direction mirror sorry I don't really know the correct answer this is just what I'd try.

Just read it's sorted itself out, weird that as I've found similar instances that Maya operations appear to be not working though upon a full system restart everything goes back to normal.
