Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

How to batch rename file extensions in XP?

Well thats it, i would be interested in knowing how to batch rename the file extensions in XP...

I know how to batch rename the file names, but it only changes the extension of the frist file and lets the rest unchanged... wich is troublesome as i need to change the extensions of some thousands of files...

well it doesnt matters... i just managed to make work the ren comand in the dos shell...

it just didnt worked because i screwed it up with the syntax... (wich i initially tried to supply with more complex params than what it would digest)

it would be cool being able to do it with the gui tough...

what's rational rose?

Not sure exactly what you are wanting to do with all those scripting languages. I only use perl out of those ones but I guess if you're webprogramming then you may need them. But not for CG. They are all pretty much the same anyways.

For tutes I suggest the perl cookbook. And then just try writing some examples ironically a good one is a renamer. That was my first perl program.

this could be a bit to simple but, couldnt you just open the folder up inside a cmd prompt then type

rename *.* *.(new extension)?

e.g

rename *.* *.jpg

or

rename *.gif *.txt or whatever.
