This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
I'm new to maya so this is a brand new way of modeling that I've never seen before. Is this something that they do often? Or is this something that you like to do to make it easier for rigging and everything else? Whatever reason it is you do this, it's looking awesome. Definately would like to see the finished work
I don't know if this is a common modeling method. It is more about deriving the sking from the anatomy so that it is very anatomically correct. A lo of times I noticed people model muscles based on what looks cool rather than function. I guess that is more an artistic way to model and my way is more science based. obviously you can get the best of both worlds if you are really good but for now I just want the final rig to be very accurate.
