Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya and Decals and Alpha Channels

New guy here.I created a flat 3d object in Polygon mesh using Rhino 3.0. I attached a decal of a chain link fence with the black as the alpha channel so it would be transparent. When I render in Rhino it works, the black area is transparent. However, when I "save as" a .obj file and import into Maya 6.5 and render it the whole decal doesn't even show up much less have a transparent background.

How do I get Maya to "see" the decal and how do I get it to render black as an alpha channel and be transparent?
