Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I think one of the real components missing on this site is a good rigging Tutorial. Mike has one and Kurt, but the don’t go into any depth on how to set up controllers for the rigs, all just really basic. The site need to have more advanced tutorials and instead of having free tutorials on the front have previews of all the tut’s on the site so people will know what to expect when the perches the videos.

haha u so wish matt lol dont call for help next time lmao lol but i think u should do the half life. U know we live in the same city Vlad and u know most of the companies out here are video game companies so i would rather see more of that type of character with a good tut on texturing in photoshop lol this way i can have some time of aid before graduation lol like thats ever going to happen.

Why not a game character with normal maps?
You could go into modeling a high poly version then baking it onto the low poly one.

I'm with Someguy, a normal mapped game spec character showing what details you can achieve out of a map without the need for modelling certain aspects!

TBH I think there is already enough modelling of characters and environment on the SM site, to do more, would just flood the site with "more of the same". The site seriously lacks Dynamics tutorials or Post Production stuff.

In fact I would like to see a nCloth tutorial done. I have ideas for one to go over its basics and where it could be used. Maybe even one to go over the new UI layout of 8/8.5 as we do seem to get a lot of questions about. So the basics of those would be really good to add to the free section. I think this would entice new members and then (if they are any good :p) the subsequent purchase of new and old DVD's and Downloads for the VIP Section.

Also the addition of new apps like XSI or AE stuff in the the Simply 3D. But Dave has that in hand.

Just thoughts.

I'm with R-tilery

rigging PLEASE, easpecially if it's not just beginner stuff!!!! and animation!!! 80% of the tuts are about modeling I don't see the point in having more. Especially as modeling is fairly intuitive and a lot easier to learn by yourself than rigging (at least for me)

cheers

Personally I would like to see a rigging tutorial, seems that modelings been done a hell of a lot.

And like farbtopf said if its more advanced and on a high poly character, say what you might see on the big screen then it would be great.
