actually i didnt get too much better. just got better at faking it. Plus Subd's make it a lot easier. But thanks none the less!

New update on the fuseladge soon. I also need to tweak some parts of the engine.

TO DO, Fuselage:

Coming Soon.

To DO, Engine:

1)More exhausts.
2)Streamline design more
3)Combine Hoses
4)Creat hatches
5)Seperate nose and tail for animation purpose.

Looks great twisted.I like the hose detail so far. exost side is really nice also. That pannel on the side of the front. Is it posible to have that more squarish ?

I actually wanted it squar and tried about 10 different ways of making it squarer(that a word?) and failed. thats as close as i could get it without screwing up my lines.

I COULD go back and model it seperate from the ship and set it up that way(will be easier to animate it opening and closing aswell) so i may do that in the future.

I actually plan on working on this model for a while. Different stages.

Right now im thinking of deleting the fuselage and starting over because of things i learned while making the engine i could make the rest better now.

Do you have any idea how to make it more squar?

for some reason my pics arent showing up half the time... but... aww well. ill go through at the end and show any i missed.

I squared out the hatch and i admit it looks much better. and will be easier to animate now. ill add some hinges and make some sort of interior of the engine(for when i open the hatch).

Um... okay. Now back to tweaking the ship.

 nice.
your skills are beyond my hard surface modeling skills.
i like the engine design. altho one cable does not seem to fit completely in one of the "exaust hole" or was it design in such a way.?

looking good.. Engine, to me looks a bit to streamlined, for the hardness and boxyness of the main body of the model.. But.. its a bit early to know

looking foward to new updates

Vlad: Yeah... i guess i am getting slightly better(figured out better ways of doing things thankfully). And the air hose doesnt fit perfectly because i havent creased that edge yet. When its creased it fits. same with the windshield. When its creased it fits. But ill check and see if i missed something. I actually wanted to redo the hosing a little anyway.

Keep doing it over till i think its perfect.

Legend:

I made the engine after i made the body. And i made them in slightly different styles. Plus i sketched a reference for the engine. So it was much better thought out and better detailed. So im going to go back and redefine sections of the main body to reflect what i learned in the engine so it all flows better.

After all im going to design the ship after the engine(was the other way around).

I took the advice from some people in chat last night and started to rework my hard poly engine and see if it will look better than the subd. Here it is so far.

yeah personally I do like this better. Maybe the tubes in the mid-section could be smoothed though.. and the round part of the front body there.. but the rest I would leave more squared and hard looking. nice industrial power looking.

I agree pony. I already tweaked the front section a little but i have to go back through and redo it because i dont like it. I think ill go a little less detail on the very front section(especially because i plan on animate it spinning... cant see much while spinning).

Well here we go:

Screens to follow.

Looks very good.

I was reading what you said in your first post about using the Driftrunner as a vehicle on ice/land. What does the base of your vehicle look like? Is it going to be something like a hovercraft or have wheels or transform into skiis on ice and hover on land? or something else?
Personally, I like the subd look in the middle section of the engine. Looks sleek in a way. I was wondering if you could mix poly and subd in this design. Make the front and back of the engine with hardedges and leave the middle area the way it was(the barrel shape and the pipes/wires etc.)

I think curves give even machines a personality, which usually seem cold. user added image But afterall, its your design, and its looking great.
