i think this is easier. now i can just reference the high poly and just model over it and know exactly where to place detail and where i can get away with least details.

user added image this is my first attempt at a low poly so i choose a method that suited me best. user added image

You're veeeeeeeerry good vlad !!! If you manage to make it with normal maps , I think it will be the best work from this contest (I like highres modeling myself , but I don't know how to use normal maps , and I didn't find any program that makes them, or tutorial ) good luck!!

beleive it or not, i am have a lot of difficulties with the low rez.
its harder than i thought. until now polycount management has not been an impediment for me. eventhough 7k is pretty high rez for a game character, but i am trying to manage the edge networks to get a good bounding box fit on the high rez so that the normal map can average things much better.

this is btw my first low poly work:p
we'll see how it comes out user added image

its at 1332 tris right now.
i still have the head to do. the teeth will be just a strip of poly with a texture map on it, the nose ring will probably be 20 polygons. so i think i am heading in the right direction for now. i'll add the sparing leftover polys to areas that need more details for the norm map to look better.
user added image thanx for the C&C.
