Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Textures look "artificial" - Need Tips

Hello everyone,

I have a little problem with the textures of my scenes.
Before you bomb me with technical knowledge I have to say that I never, ever considered with texturing.
Until now I only build masses of Polygon Models. They don't look bad but it's very boring if all your spaceships, tanks, cars etc. are just gray...

I tried texturing them by assigning different materials (I picked random one's because I don't know at all how the different materials look like or behave) and colors but my scene always looks very artificial.
Do you guys have any tips to make materials (e.g. a wooden table) look more photorealistic?

Kaoru
