Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Oh see, so its alright if i make a scene in max, then maybe use maya to make an envirnment or something. And join it all into one picture?user added image

It would if u wanted to get a quick, halfway-decent envirnment using paint effects in Maya. Then convert it into polygon and stick it in your prefered 3d program for tweeking... :attn:

I have a question:

The final render has to be in maya, or can I do some retouch in photoshop later, like tweaking the color balance, adding dirt in the textures, lens flare?

And what is the pixel dimensions for the file I´ll send you?

There will be a final entry thread created toward the end of the competition where final entries are posted.

Minor touchup in Photoshop is ok. Might want to limit those lense flares. user added image They tend to be overused.

Question

ok.... if i built a miniature of a building and blended it with my render... is that ok?
It would just be in the background and i'm not sure if i'll do it but i was just wondering.

Hi I'm afraid that I'm not sure of what you mean by 3 or more... You mean characters to model or members to group and join the contest? (Under the "NEW PRIZES" post)

I think i asked a similar if not the same question, and i believe it means there only has to be 3 entrants, but i dunno, lol, thats a faded memory!
