Captain Thomas Masterman Hardy's cabin. Note that photos are prohibited in the Great Cabin where Nelson lived.

A shot of one of the two forward(ish) facing 64-pounder Carronades. Just imagine firing one of these babies at a French ship, double-shotted with canister (a huge bag full of musket balls and scrap iron). Double shotted means putting two bags in the barrel. Triple-shotting by putting a 64-pound ball in beneath the canister was also an option - lovely!

A close-up of one of the 24-pounder cannons that is in the starboard broadside. The deck above contained 18-pounders, and the one below had 36-pounders.

The forward (Mizzen, I believe it's called) mast, featuring the rigging.

A couple of shots of the starboard side. The Admiral's entrance is on the other (port side), about level with the second from left gunport on the second deck up.

A shot of the rudder. The two columns on the right are supporting the ship in the drydock.

Last but not least, the plaque that marks the spot where Nelson was stood when he was shot by a sniper from the French ship, Redoubtable. This plaque is slightly right of centre when looking forward, and about 5 yards forward of the wheel.

There is a Royal Navy guard stationed on the Orlop deck where Nelson died, stopping tourists from taking photos. For me, a true Englishman, and somebody who is proud of our National Heros, particularly Nelson, and what he achieved, it was a moving experience standing just feet from where our greatest sailor was mortally wounded, and where he died, after finding out that he had indeed won the battle.

Cheers for that mate, all that will come in handy. I am just questioning the height of the decks. I can't help but think that they are not high enough.I know they were shorted in thoses days but I would still like a second opinion.
