Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

I have finished the back of the head and am now working on the eyes, nose, mouth and other details. C&C are welcome.

Also, I tried painting hair on the model but it was facing inwards instead of out. Is there anyway to fix it?

Edit: Never mind, i fixed it

I would suggest not trying to wrap a photo around the model but instead using photographic (as well as painted where necessary) elements to create a texture for the head.

The bottom edge of the eyelid needs to come down more in a rounded shape.
Also the bump at the top of the cheek (near the outer eye area) needs to be reduced/removed.

It will be interesting to see the detail build up, good luck user added image

thnxs t1ck, i am having a heap of trouble getting the eye to look good so i think i might re-make it (The eye). If there are any tutorials on how to make an eye it would be helpfull because i have been looking at my own and have found out that it is more detailled than i thaught. user added image

I have fixed up the cheeks and added some eyes. I still need to do a heap of work on the eyelid area.

A bit more texturing and some tweakage on the eyes.
Also, whats the best method for making hair. In some tutorials i have seen it made with a paint effects, simulators and modeled.
His hair is really short and straight if that helps.

Thnxs Joopson, I tried the fur methot but it's not dense enough.
When i render it in MR with final gather on it looks really thin (See attached picture). Is there any way i can make it more dence? user added image

I think you might consider finishing the modeling part before really trying to texture or do the hair and such. As you continue to model, you'll find that you'll just have to redo and rearrange the texture and hair as you go, y'know?
