Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I'm afraid I am new to maya, so I am not sure - I would guess using maybe the cv curve tool, though I am sure that others have better suggestions.

You can curve it as much as you like, you just need at least 3 points to draw the curve (I think), and I'm not sure curves are renderes as a standard. If curves can't be rendered you could just extrude a very small circle along the curve though...
