Merging Vertexes

Hello, i'm quite new to the entire modeling process, and i have been following a lot of tutorials, anyways, i can't seem to find out how to combine 2 poly-objects in an easy way without using booleans. Is the only way to first combine the polys, and then merge the vertexes 2 by 2? Or is there a smarter way?

Also what is "snap" ? ^_^

I'm newb, live with it.

You can use union i think but you must merge vertex again... i suggest you to use combine and merge vetrex it's the cleaner user added image ( im noob 2 .. about 1 - 2 months practise but i use this method )

And Boleons are smarter way to combine but when you do it ... it get reall bad vertex all around the 2 objects ... i prefere the Combine method user added image it's a matter of Style anyway ... user added image

Polygon>Combine. Then merge verts, you cannot merge verts prior to combining.

Allright, will stick to it then. I just think it's a disgustiong overview. I typically turn on x-ray, but it's hard to see which
vertecies to merge with which. I surpose it's just a matter of practise.
