Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

thats a tough one, it depends on what you're most comfortable with. some ppl model the whole hood and headlight and then do the cut out which works very well esp if you want the mesh flow to be nice. i like to model the hood and then the headlight so its kinda what you're most comfortable with after trying it. also when applying ur bevel, u gotta make sure its not to round or to hard so keep messing with the distance in the channel box. usually when u apply a 2 segment bevel, it adds an extra poly at the end of both sides also so you have to go clean it up through ur mesh unless ur applying it to a line thats connected at start and end

nice progress but break the car up into section like the doors and bonnet ect.

however i would leave in polys as MR can have issues rendering subd's

also personally i wouldnt subdivide. i would get rid of tris and make the lines flow adding extra loop at places where u want sharp or not so sharp corners. then smooth it

only using subd to occassionally preview it


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

thats pretty much what ive been doing im just having problems with givin it depthit being a bit of a pain so im not gonna bother with it until i start the interior wich will hopfully be tommorow...

@99gsturbo: i F****ing love your method for lights man it takes a bit longer but it works so perfectly i ended up just using that for the headlights too thanks for that write up BTWuser added image user added image :bow: :bow:

cleaned up the mash a bit ill take some sceerneys in about 15 mins

Taillights are looking flawless. I see a few tris and 5 sides polys but just keep working at it. its looking so good

im at my sisters house for about 6 more hrs then back to work on this and im wondering if anyone knows any free or pdf tuts for doin car interiors or if someone could make one for me i want to get this car done before i start school in a mont and a half and its slow going for a bit cause my gf is goin to camp so i gotta spen some time wwith her before and after camp
