Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

cute eskimo

hi guys im creating an animation about a snowman who stalks an eskimo using maya for my year project in my cgi course..

nothing overly special so far, but any tips or feedback or anything would b appreciated.

i also got a problem with the fur that i posted in the newbie section titled maya fur direction if u can help me with that

Looks pretty nice, i would however add some scraggle and make the hair a bit longer.

hey guys sorry no update for ages but huzzah im about to complete my animation. I got problems with my fur flickering in the final renders but no time to fix or know how and i forgot to put snow in stupidly but i might comp that in after user added image cos for my study we are required to finish it in time for the sydney animation festival this friday so gotta rush!

yeh i kno hes got no nose and his mouth leads no where, but i did my research and found out eskimoes dont breathe so there

A wire or two would always be nice as this is a wip, looks a bit weird around his eyes where the nose should be but I'm sure its nothing.

Dont mind having no nose by the way, its cartoonish so its all your decision whats more estethic(or impossible to acomplish). user added image

this is my eskimo now, after uv mapping him more properly and chaing the fur a little, also changed the setting a bit

use some shadows or do an occlusion pass because now it looks like the little guy is floating.
like the idea though
