Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Really like this model. You've got the curvature of the front facing side of the face done really well I think. I realized recently that's something I'm not very good at, and you see alot of head models with quite flat looking faces, I think. But yours has a nice full shape to it overall.

The nose has a strange bump in it, that doesn't seem to be in the photos. But then again, I have no idea who the person you're basing it off of looks like.

You might want to change the topology around the mouth so you have a loop going around the out side of the mouth to stop any stretching.............dave

ok so i'm looking the the geometry of my mouth and started thinking that i need to not have it at the end point that i have it at now and add a little bit of geometry. thoughts? am I correct in my thinking? Red lines are added blue lines are deleted.

[edit]nvm about deleted blue line i would need to keep that in order to keep 4 sided polys around there.
