Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Turning off all the lights

How to just turn of all lights in the viewport and lit everything in the scene uniformly? Everything in the scene will be displayed without any effect of color.

Somewhat similar to sketchup. Everything in sketchup is lit uniformly.Building a House in Sketchup - YouTube.

You can try using a surface shader along with wireframe on shaded, but I notice that sketchup does have some shading, it is just on a broad basis and subtle.

You can use a lambert and increase the incandescence/ambient and balance that with the color. I second the wireframe on shaded otherwise you're on your own with those toon lines user added image
