transparent object

hello. is there any way to make an object transparent for the specified light? i need to place the sphereLight into an object, so that it lights everything exept of that object.

I'm guessing you add a new material to that object and increase it's transparency in the Attributes Editor

no, i need that object being transparent only for one specific light source.

If the object should not cast any shadows regardless of the light source then you can just turn "Cast shadows" off under the Render Stats of the object. If it should cast shadows from other light sources, then go to Window->Relationship Editors->Light Linking->Light-Centric, select the sphereLight on the left and deselect the object on the right.

Edit: Depending on the geometry of the object, you may get away by turning "Double Sided" off under Render Stats for the object.

You can also use light linking, just turn off that light for that mesh.............dave

i've tried every suggestion, but still the object blocks the light source.
