Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Surface -> extrude

This is driving me crazy.

I have two curve. I simply wish to extrude the profile curve along the other curve to make a nice surface. However, everytime I try the surface never appears along the curve.

I am using the follwing options:

tube, at path, component, profile normal.

I managed to recreate the problem by just trying to extrude something else. I don't think I have ever been able to do this properly.

Here is a screenshot.

hmm
don't know for sure, but it might be the position of your original curves. if you move or rotate your profile or path, it can manipulate how the surface is positioned.

i figured it out finally.

The profile curve follows the path curve from it's pivot point. So for the above example I needed the pivot point to be at the peak of the profile curve.
