Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya 5.0 PLE

Hi,
A pal of mine is wanting to learn Maya, I told him to go and get the PLE version and do the tutorials included.
I know it will be out soon for free, but the deal they offer looks great for £15.00(ish) as it includes a training DVD and booklet.
When I looked on the 'Store' pages (Software) then I saw two versions:-

Learning Maya 5.0 - Beginner's Guide
Learning Studio Tools - Beginner's Guide

Looking through the topics on the DVD, I thought that the 'Studio Tools' one had some more advanced content than the 'Learning Maya 5.0' did.
Can someone please tell me what this 'Studio tools' is?
And which would you advise me to tell him to get?

Regards Scraggy

Studio Tools is another Alias product. Its not Maya. Its CAD based.

Flipping heck!

Hi,
My Pal just went on the Alias website to 'Buy' Maya 5.0 PLE because I said it was good to learn from.
Hmmmm _ I THOUGHT it was a bargain until the shipping was added =

From USA with shipping [Roughly] (Only FED EX) = £37.00
From Europe with shipping [Roughly] = £39.00
From UK with shipping = £39.50

Hmm What is going on here!!!! Scraggy

Not yet.... It says the 'Fall' but he/I wanted the DVD and booklet aswell, but at the price added on for handling - Especially UK is ridiculous!
Oh yeah and not only that, but since they added the 5.0 PLE download, they cut the 4.5 d/load off! Grrr 1 mad Dogg
