poly select

Is there any way to select polys in an object without the polys on the unseen side of the object getting selected? I know usually I just deselect any polys that werent intentional but I need a
better way to do this. Thx

Go to Display > Custom Polygon Display Options Box and, at the bottom of the dialog, turn on Backface Culling.

hmmm... that works but if the object is very complicated then other polys whose normals are facing the same dir as the polys im trying to select will get selected also even if they are behind the ones Im selecting. did that make sense?

It's kinda hidden
Edit > Paint selection tool > options
one of my favorites

It works just like any artisan tool
be sure to use the hard edge brush-
(It's either selected or not)
