This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Dreaded Dreads

Anyone have any ideas on how to set up a nice flow or bounce effect for poly modeled dreadlocks?
Dont want to use paintFX.

make them in to softbodys. maybe add some springs for shap.. one problem with this that would need to be worked out is them colliding with each other.

you will want to use the make copy soft.. with the origanal as a goal.. paint goal weights on it. makeing all the dreeds close to the head at a value of 1 and taper down to maybe a 5 to the tips..
