Infinite Persp. Viewport Grid

Just wanted to know if anyone has a way to set the grid to repeat infinitely. In programs that have this I find it easier to orient myself and the models lines.

Wouldn't that cause performance issues? plus the camera's clipping plane would snip that off at xx(I have mine set higher than the default 1000) distance. Apart from using an insanely high number in the grid options I'd like to know as well :x

I usually set my far clip at 1,000,000 and keep my near clip a default.
