VGA to analouge tv

Im not sure this is the right place but...
im trying to connect my laptop to my analouge tv so i can watch video tutorials while working in maya
i have a vga to scart cable but im just not getting anywhere, my computers just not picking up my tv
any help?

try the display properties and choose 'clone'..??? might help??
