Volume axis field on flame thrower effect

I am fairly new to maya fluids, however I have gotten a good flame effect going. I am trying to get it to project with more energy, like a flame thrower. I added a volume axis field, but nothing seemed to change as far as the forward velocity (it is still a standard flame). I have played with most of the settings. I am sure I am missing some thing that will stand out when I am pointed at it. Can someone give me any advice as to what I may be doing wrong? I have attached the scene file.

Thanks in advance!
