This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Figured it out. I selected the sphere and just planar mapped the whole thing and that got rid of the black spots. So it was due to the fact that my uv's weren't attached creating the sharp falloff on the uv border edges
