Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

UV BUG : Read this !!! - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED NOW :P

If you like me, have to take Maya 6.5 objects into Maya 7.0, then be aware thay they have changed the way that Automatic Mapping works in Maya 7.

When you open a 6.5 file, with automatic mapping on, then your texture/UV map will be garbled.

WORKAROUND:

Delete the history of the object in Maya 6.5, and now the UV map is baked on the object and no problems in Maya 7.0

- Now you guys know. user added image

Cheers

only if you haven't edited them further and wish to move the projection around, after the fact.

is that why the 'furry creature.mb' tut from 3D World wouldn't open for me (6.5) or is it me. error message reads something like 'cant find illustrator file' something like that, very vague, sorry. the maps seemed OK but that was peering at them from Photo shop. There is also an error message in the output window that reads 'parsar error 6; corrupted file.'
I even changed the disc at the shop I bought the mag??
