move along animCurve twice?

hi!

I need to animate a obj along a motion path in 720 frames. but it should not follow the path once during animFrames but twice. I managed to set the motionPath_uValue from 1 to 2. now the obj´s speed is doubled but stops at 360 frames when reaching the curves end.


how would i start?

are you saying you want your object to move along the path and then back again?

no, I´d like to move it from beginning to end - and start from beginning again. to have my obj go through the path 2 times. would that be possible?

i don't see why not... all you have to do is keyframe your U value... at your zero your U value should be 0. go to the frame you want it to be at the end of your curve, move your object to the end of your curve, and key your U value again. then on the NEXT frame, take it back to the beginning of the curve and key your U value, go to the end frame, and move your object to the end of your curve again and key your U value again... that should do it.

edit: i just went into maya and performed the exact thing you wanted... every time you make a keyframe on your U value a point should appear on your curve. you can select that point (by selecting the frame number next to the dot on the curve) and you can move it wherever you want on the curve (it won't leave the curve) so if you can't get your animation to act correctly you can always move those points along the curve til it does... but you will need all 4 points to have it go along the curve twice.
