Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

on the texture basics tutorial...?

how does he get the uv map into photoshot, he just kinda has it, jw thanks if anyone could tell me.

In the UV editor, after youve laid your map out go to polygons UV snapshot (set the sizes to whatever you want the map to be 512 x 512, 2048 x 2048 etc etc...
